This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines acceptable and prohibited uses of DorkHost Networks services. This policy is part of our Terms of Service. Violations may result in service suspension or termination.

1. General Principles

DorkHost Networks provides hosting services for legitimate purposes. We expect customers to use services responsibly, respect others, and comply with applicable laws.

2. Prohibited Content

You may not use our services to host, store, or distribute:

  • Illegal Content: Material that violates applicable laws, including CSAM (reported to authorities immediately)
  • Malware: Viruses, trojans, ransomware, or other malicious software
  • Phishing: Fraudulent websites designed to steal credentials
  • Pirated Content: Copyrighted material distributed without authorization
  • Torrent Traffic: BitTorrent or similar peer-to-peer file sharing
  • Harassment Content: Material used to harass, threaten, or harm individuals

3. Prohibited Activities

3.1 Network Abuse

  • Denial-of-service attacks
  • Network scanning without authorization
  • Unauthorized access attempts
  • Traffic interception
  • IP address spoofing

3.2 Email Abuse

  • Unsolicited bulk email (spam)
  • Open mail relays
  • Forged headers
  • Email harvesting

3.3 Resource Abuse

  • Cryptocurrency mining (unless authorized)
  • Processes impacting other customers
  • Circumventing resource limits

3.4 Fraudulent Activity

  • Fraudulent schemes or scams
  • Identity theft
  • Payment fraud
  • False registration information

4. Permitted Uses

  • Web hosting and application deployment
  • Development and testing environments
  • Personal projects and homelab extensions
  • VPN and privacy services for personal use
  • Tor relays (entry/middle nodes with prior discussion)
  • Legal security research with authorization

5. Resource Usage

  • Stay within allocated resource limits
  • Do not access resources beyond your allocation
  • Contact us if you need additional resources

6. Security

  • Keep software updated
  • Use strong authentication
  • Respond promptly to security notifications
  • Report vulnerabilities to us

7. Abuse Reports

Report abuse at abuse@dorkhost.com with relevant details, logs, timestamps, and IP addresses.

8. Enforcement

We may investigate, warn, suspend, or terminate services for violations. Serious violations may result in immediate suspension and reporting to authorities.

9. Appeals

Contact us if you believe we made an error. We review appeals in good faith.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as needed with notice. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of services provided by DorkHost Networks ("DorkHost," "we," "us," or "our"). By using our services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services

DorkHost Networks provides cloud hosting services, including virtual private servers, cloud instances, and related infrastructure services. Specific services, resources, and pricing will be agreed upon separately.

2. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Ensuring your use complies with our Acceptable Use Policy
  • Providing accurate contact and billing information
  • Maintaining backups of your data

3. Payment Terms

  • Payment is due according to the billing cycle agreed upon for your account
  • Late payments may result in service suspension
  • Prices may change with reasonable notice

4. Service Level

We strive to maintain high availability and performance, but services are provided "as is" without guarantees of specific uptime levels unless separately agreed in writing.

5. Data and Privacy

Your data belongs to you. We will:

  • Not access your data except as necessary to provide services or as required by law
  • Not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing
  • Respond to valid legal process as required by law
  • Notify you of legal requests for your data when legally permitted

You are responsible for maintaining your own backups. We are not liable for data loss.

6. Acceptable Use

Your use must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy. Violations may result in service suspension or termination.

7. Termination

  • You may cancel at any time by contacting us
  • We may terminate for violations of these Terms or the AUP
  • We may terminate for non-payment after reasonable notice
  • Upon termination, retrieve your data promptly; we may delete it after a reasonable period

8. Limitation of Liability

  • Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for services in the 12 months preceding any claim
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages
  • We are not liable for data loss, business interruption, or lost profits

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DorkHost Networks from claims, damages, and expenses arising from your use of services or violation of these Terms.

10. Modifications

We may modify these Terms with reasonable notice. Continued use after modifications constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States.
